Bruxelles-Woluwe church

United in the gospel for over 40 years in order to make Jesus Christ known

We are a conservative, French speaking, evangelical church located in Woluwe, Brussels. We want God’s word to be at the center of everything we do, to proclaim Christ crucified and encourage believers to grow in both love for God and love for others.

A word from our pastor (2mn)

Why a new building?

Nos besoins

To meet our needs

Our existing building, which we have owned for 40 years, has a 120 seat capacity. It has served us well in the past but now it is impractical and too small. We currently rent a school on Sunday morning.

La croissance

To grow

Our church has grown to roughly 240 people on Sundays (including children). A new building will enable us to better resource ministry in our midst and to support ministry initiatives and future church plants.

Former et envoyer

To train and send

As a larger church we are well placed to equip more workers for ministry. In particular, we want to maintain the close connection that exists with the Brussels Bible Institute and the students studying there.

Brussels, a city in the heart of Europe

With its European and international institutions, and the vibrancy that is found in all major cities, Brussels is a key place to train disciples and send them out into the world.

Our building project

We are looking for a building that can accommodate 300-400 people to meet our current needs and anticipated growth. We would like to remain near our current church location, easily accessible by public transport. A building of this size would also be a helpful resource for other local evangelical parachurch ministry activities.

This is indeed our long term vision. We were privileged to support two church planting teams going out from Woluwe in 2015 and 2019, and, under God, we’d like to do that in the future. But those past experiences have shown us the need to plant from a greater position of strength in order to better resource those future ventures.

Previous attempts for a building

We have been searching for several years for a building that would meet our needs. Several projects have been initiated but have not come to fruition.

When we faced building purchase projects in the past, we were held back because we did not have the necessary funds. If we only launch fundraising when we have found the building, we start at a disadvantage compared to other potential buyers. That's why we want to already have a financial reserve dedicated to the building, which will allow us to act more effectively when the time comes.

Vancouver
Vancouver (2021)

This project was launched but did not continue because the developers were ultimately reluctant to have a church in this residential appartment block.

Vancouver
Avenue Slegers (2023)

Project to expand our existing church building by purchasing and building on the adjoining plot of land. This turned out to be impossible due to local planning regulations.

Vancouver
Colonel Bourg (2025)

The building was well suited to our needs, but the price was too high. This was a disappointment but it has motivated us to launch this fundraising campaign so as to raise sufficient funds to purchase a suitable building as soon as possible.

Here's what they say

James

James Hely Hutchinson, director of the Brussels Bible Institute

I praise God (my wife too!) for the privilege of being part of this healthy church since 2007 and for its singular importance in the training, year after year, of students of the Brussels Bible Institute. Aspiring word ministers need God-honouring theological and ministerial convictions – and they also need to see tangible outworkings of those convictions at local-church level. Many graduates of the Institute, now serving as pastors or church planters, greatly benefited from the ministry model they were exposed to at Woluwe.

Koen & Suzie

Koen & Suzie

I (Koen) came to Woluwe church in 2016, having met Suzie who was already at the church. We got married, and God blessed us with Joshua (5 years old) and Abigail (3 years old). We benefit from this church on different levels: the preaching, fellowship, and the small groups. We are very grateful to our elders and pastors who devote themselves to the good of our church.

Monique

Monique

I'm Monique, a deacon at Woluwe church which I joined when I was converted in 1993. So I'm an 'old-timer'! The opportunity to sit under different ministers of the word over all that time has greatly contributed to my spiritual growth. I give thanks to God for this church that I have seen evolve over the years, in both spiritual and numerical growth - we were about fifty back then! May the Lord continue his beautiful work in us and through us!

Cédric

Cédric

My name is Cédric, I have been in this church since October 2022, where I was baptized a year later. From the beginning, EPE Woluwe has been a spiritual support, helping me discover faith and find the help I needed in my life. The different church gatherings and the teaching of the word are precious gifts that have allowed me to learn, step by step, to better know our heavenly Father and his son Jesus.

Sarah

Sarah

I'm Sarah, 29 years old, and I joined the church 6 years ago. Today I'm involved at different levels, as co-leader of the youth group, in welcoming newcomers, spiritual mentoring of other women, etc. I have greatly benefited from this church through the teaching provided, the guidance of the elders, and the relationships with brothers and sisters. This has allowed me to grow in my faith: a deeper knowledge of God that transforms my heart and my desire to serve him.
